Yoon Dong-ju - GAN

SHORE on the SUN-GLAZED BOULDER

may we DRY the MOIST LIVER

 spread

Like the RABBIT that ran

from the CAUCASUS MOUNTAINS

May we SPIN around, around,

and SHIELD the LIVER

O GAUNT EAGLE,

thin from my LONGTIME keeping!

Come TEAR and EAT,

SORROWLESSLY.

You shall

THRIVE,

and I must

WITHER—

and still,

O TURTLE!

Never again shall I fall for Dragon Palace's TEMPTATION.

PROMETHEUS; O PITIABLE PROMETHEUS,

bearing a MILLSTONE on his neck for his THEFT of FIRE,

plummeting into the DEEP without END,

PROMETHEUS.
